CARPET & UPHOLSTERY CLEANER – RESORT

Job Title:               Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner
Reports To:           Lodge Operations Managers
FLSA Status:         Non-Exempt
Salary:                   $18 – $20 hourly (experience based)

SUMMARY: We are looking for a full-time experienced Carpet & Upholstery cleaner to join our team. This position will collaborate with our Lodge Operations Managers. Responsibilities will include cleaning, maintaining, and restoring carpets and upholstery in all areas of the resort to include the hotel and base area using specialized extraction and cleaning equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate carpet extraction and cleaning equipment to clean and restore carpets, rugs, and upholstery.
  • Pre-treat stains and heavily soiled areas using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Inspect carpets and upholstery to determine the best cleaning methods
  • Use appropriate techniques to remove spots, stains, and odors from carpets and upholstery.
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of carpet extraction and cleaning equipment, including routine cleaning and troubleshooting.
  • Follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Collaborate with Lodge Operations Managers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Move furniture and other obstacles as necessary to access carpets for cleaning.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies for cleaning procedures.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Experience in carpet & upholstery cleaning or a related field.
  • Knowledge of carpet extraction equipment and cleaning techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and furniture (up 50lbs).
  • Ability to work independently.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The candidate must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver’s License
